WBB: Hofstra hosts Delaware; Game to stream on SNY

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra women’s basketball team is set to wrap up its four-game homestand this Sunday afternoon at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. Tipping is expected at 2 p.m.

Sunday’s game will air on SNY and FloHoops.com. Additionally, WRHU will provide live audio coverage on the Hofstra Alternative Web Channel (HAWC) and live stats will also be available. Hofstra (5-13, 2-8 CAA) is coming off a game where he clashed with first-place Drexel on Friday night before the Dragons retired in the fourth quarter to overtake Pride. Hofstra trailed by one point in the fourth quarter before the Dragons finished the game 19-4. Knight Jahsyni had a season-high 14 points (6 of 10 FG) and five steals, three assists and three rebounds. Jaylen Hineswho leads Hofstra’s available players with 12.6 points per game, recorded his second straight double-double and third in five games with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Delaware, riding a seven-game winning streak heading into the contest, has a 17-5 overall record and an 11-1 mark in the CAA. The Blue Hens recently beat Northeastern in a game that went down the drain, 66-63. The game was tied at 63 with 1:05, but after a free throw and jump with 18 seconds left and two missed three-pointers by Northeastern, Delaware took the three-point victory. USBWA National Player of the Week and second-leading scorer in the nation, Jasmine Dickey, averaged 25.0 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game, while Tyi Skinner follows with 14.1 points per game. Ty Battle is averaging a double-double with 13.3 points per game and 10.9 boards per contest.

Hofstra is 12-67 against Delaware. Hofstra, who has lost 13 straight to the Blue Hens, is looking for his first win against Delaware since Jan. 3, 2016.
