THE CITY OF DAVAO – Philippine Identification Card (PhilID) holders who have completed Steps 1 (Demographic) and 2 (Biometrics) of the application can track the delivery status through the Philippine Post (PHLPost) website .

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) recently announced that it has received inquiries regarding the delivery of their PhilID cards.

Registrants should check the link, enter the transaction number in the transaction slip provided in step 2, and click “Follow”.

“If there is no result, it means that your national identity card is still being processed,” the PSA published on September 15.

PHLPost will deliver the national identity card free of charge to the address provided by the applicant.

“If you are not at home, you can leave an authorization letter, a copy of your identity document and the transaction slip,” advised the PSA.

Enacted by President Rodrigo R. Duterte in August 2018, Republic Act 11055, or the Philippines Identification System Act, aims to establish a single national identity card for all Filipinos and resident aliens.

The national identity card will be a valid proof of identity that will simplify public and private transactions, enrollment in schools and opening bank accounts.

It also aims to increase efficiency, especially in dealing with government departments where people will only need to show one piece of ID when making transactions. (ANP)
