Teachers in an Ohio school district are wearing name badges that students can scan with their phones to access an ‘LGBTQ+ resource guide,’ which includes instructions on how to get an abortion and ‘s’ organize like a sex worker”.

The Hilliard City School District participates in the National Education Association’s “I’m Here” program, which encourages teachers to wear the badge. The group says the program is meant to educate teachers on how to respond to LGBT students. But one Free Washington Beacon The review found that the QR code directs students to resources that describe abortion as the removal of “pregnancy tissue,” encourage gender transition without parental consent, and promote sex work.

Public schools across the country are being criticized for teaching students age-inappropriate lessons. Parents in Idaho, for example, caught the state government this month offering “porn literacy” to college students. A parent sued a Maine school district for donating books containing “sexually graphic material, including depictions of queer sex”, the Free tag reported in July.

Teacher badges sparked outrage among parents in Hilliard City, ABC 6 reported earlier this month.

“The badge has a QR code that when scanned takes you to a website with extremely inappropriate information and as a parent that crosses the line,” said Hilliard City parent Lisa Chaffee.

Hilliard City Superintendent Dave Stewart said the badges are only for “adult learning”, although the QR code website provides resources aimed at K-12 students. After backlash from parents, the district advised teachers to cover the QR code on the back of the badge, according to a statement from Stewart.

A link from the online guide encourages children to seek out LGBT resources without parental approval.

“LGBTQIA+ students should be respected, affirmed, and protected in Texas schools, even if they don’t have the full support of their parents or guardians,” says “Free to Be Me: A Toolkit to Protect LGBTQIA+ Students’ Rights” .

Another link in the guide directs students to an article titled “Organize Like a Sex Worker: Learning from Sex Worker and Organizer Kate Adamo.” The message states that recognizing that “sex work is work” is “essential to ensuring everyone’s reproductive and sexual liberation”. Kate Adamo, the “sex worker” interviewed in the post, compared “transphobia or homophobia, being anti-abortion or anti-sex work” to eugenics.

Sex workers “face stigma, judgment and reluctance from the Christian right and sex work-excluded feminists (SWERFs) on the left,” Adamo said.

Another link promotes a Planned Parenthood Toronto project with videos like “Are you fag enough to be here? Spoiler Alert: YES!” and “Sex acts that aren’t performed enough.”

The National Education Association, which created the resource guide, offers a list of books with recommendations for elementary schools such as The story of two dads, my princess boyand Jacob’s new dressas well as a number of other recommendations on sex and gender identity like Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dresswhich is about a male child who wears a robe.

The resource guide also provides a handbook to help minors understand their gender identity, which says “assigning sex does not take into account one’s true gender identity”.

“Your real sex may be different from the sex a doctor assigned you, which is perfectly normal, valid, and wonderful,” the manual says.

The Hilliard City School District did not respond to a request for comment.

Ahead of November’s general election where Philadelphians will have the chance to vote for a new governor, U.S. senator and local representatives, the The Mayor’s Office launched an updated and more secure voting website.

The Office of Innovation and Technology (ILO) digital services and software engineering teams associated with Office of Municipal Commissioners to build vote.phila.govwhich contains information on voter deadlines, how and where to register to vote, how to request an absentee ballot, and how to find your polling place, among other details.

The site was launched at the end of August after a year of work by stakeholders, according to Karissa Demi, director of software engineering for OIT. Demi said the new website was a complete overhaul of the old one, which had been around for about 10 years.

“The idea is that you can find everything that was on the old site, but hopefully in a bit more streamlined information architecture,” she said.

This site is also safer than the old one, Demi said. At the time of the 2020 elections, when there were many concerns about election security, the ILO took a deep dive into its current website. Once they realized how old the system and servers were, they decided to take action – it was running on a content management system that was no longer supported, which was a risk for the safety. Demi said her office decided to work with city commissioners on the overhaul because they were dealing with something “insecure.”

The team also made improvements to make the website faster and more mobile-friendly, and they made some accessibility improvements. The site now works well with screen readers, making it easier to navigate the site for people with visual impairments.

In addition to practical information about voting, vote.phila.gov has information for poll workers and for those who might be wondering how to volunteer at the polls. There is also a Candidates and Campaigns section offering information for candidates and a Resources and Data section which provides links to various places where City Commissioners manage their results information.

And you can also find important dates, news articles, press information and contact information for city commissioners, Demi said, as well as an internal search function. Demi said the Office of City Commissioners has also revamped the site’s content to make it easier to read and translate.

“The main improvement of the new site is that it is human-translated into Spanish and Chinese, whereas the old site just used Google Translate, and that was adequate, but often not ideal,” he said. she stated.

This website also hosts the city’s first progressive web app, which means you can add the website to your phone’s home screen and access it as if it were a native app. Demi said this feature was a priority from the start because city commissioners wanted the site to be accessible to as many people as possible.

“It was a way for us to give this functionality without needing to build a native app,” Demi said. “We have a good team of developers, but we don’t have anyone who can do native app development for mobile devices.”

OIT has an external sites project that allows it to create these sites relatively quickly, using a custom-built in-house infrastructure. Demi said the infrastructure was already there and formed the basis of this new website. Software engineer Jai Pyneni did most of the WordPress and frontend work, software engineer Derrick Dieso builds the framework for external sites, and Stacy Finnaren, a digital designer, designed the site’s new look and feel. According to Demi, the goal of the new site is to make it easier for users to find the campaign resources they’re looking for.

“The goal would be that if you haven’t registered to vote, the site helps you get there. If you need to receive a ballot by mail, you can do so,” she said. “Really anything about getting people to the polls. That’s what the site is, is supposed to do.

Representative Jackie Walorski of Indiana was one of three people killed in a crash in August.

The driver of the vehicle carrying Indiana Rep. Jackie Walorski was responsible for the head-on crash that killed the Republican and three others, police said.

Zachery Potts, the driver of the Toyota RAV4, was traveling northbound on a two-lane highway last month behind a flatbed truck, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office. Walorski’s director of communications, Emma Thomson, was also in the SUV. He attempted to pass the truck on the left and collided with a southbound Buick driven by Edith Schmucker.

All four people were killed.

The sheriff’s office said evidence from the crash reconstruction, including information from the airbag control module (also called the car’s “black box”), showed the Toyota was traveling at 82 mph five seconds before the crash.

Police added that no phones had apparently been used before the crash and there was no indication of mechanical failure.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office said the findings conclude their investigation into the crash.

Tripura’s highly anticipated premier film institute, under the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) in Kolkata, will begin its journey from October 31 at Nazrul Kalakshetra in Agartala, the Minister of Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA), Sushanta Chowdhury.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the state government and SRFTI would be signed for this purpose as soon as the board of trustees of the Kolkata-based institute clears it.

Addressing a press conference here at the Civil Secretariat on Friday afternoon, the Minister said that the academic activities of the institute will start from November 7.

Mainly, the institution will organize four courses. Admissions announcement will be released on September 20, Chowdhury said and added that the deadline for submitting the SRFTI admission application form is October 20.

Application forms will be reviewed October 21-30. The four courses that will be taught primarily at the institute include courses in film appreciation, production management in film and television for four weeks and courses in film for eight weeks, anchoring and reading news for media.

Chowdhury said the convocation ceremony and certificates will be given at the end of the course to the students on February 15, 2023. All these courses will be conducted at very minimal fees. This decision was taken during a meeting held between the representatives of the institute and the state government at the main office of the institute on September 5 in Kolkata.

He also said that the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs and the Satyajit Roy Film and Television Institute will jointly oversee the state film institute. The responsibility for constructing the infrastructure of the Nazrul Kalakshetra institute was given to PWD and for the beautification to Agartala Municipal Corporation, Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation.

The state government has allocated Rs 5.75 crore for the project, and the PWD department is undertaking the necessary works to give Nazrul Kalashetra a facelift.

He said that no such initiative to establish an institute had been taken during the reign of the previous government. He said that based on interest, diploma and degree courses will be started later for all these courses. There are many who are interested in movies from neighboring states like Manipur, Assam, West Bengal. The government has decided to set up the institute in the state with positivity. He hopes there will be plenty of job opportunities based on this field. The culture and tourism of Tripura will be further enhanced with the development of films in the state. ICA Department Secretary Pradip Kumar Chakraborty and Director-in-Charge Santosh Das were present at the press conference.

Cloudflare, in the midst of an about-face, has blocked access to an extremist-friendly online forum for which it provides security services. Kiwi Farms is known to discuss and compile information on people it deems eccentric, then dox them, their family and friends with the aim of launching campaigns of harassment.

The move came after the company discovered that targeted threats were escalating to such an extent that “there is an unprecedented urgency and immediate threat to human life unlike what we have seen before.” A few days earlier, the company released a statement, without mentioning Kiwi Farms, saying it would not block the forum despite a campaign started by a current victim pressuring Cloudflare to do so.

Kiwi Farms ‘breeding ground for countless harassment campaigns’

Started in 2013 by Josh “Null” Moon as a forum to troll and harass a webcomic artist, Kiwi Farms became what New York Magazine dubbed “the largest community of stalkers on the web” by 2016. The platform’s primary user targets are the individuals its members call “lolcows”, people who might be “processed” for entertainment. Generally focusing on people who are members of the LGBTQ community. The Anti-Defamation League considers the forum a “fertile ground for countless harassment campaigns.

Members compile information about targets, track their activities and then dox them, the act of maliciously posting private information. They also hack victims’ online accounts like Uber which was the case for one of the forums current targets, Clara “Keffal” Sorrenti, Canadian transgender activist and Twitch host. She recently had hundreds of dollars worth of food sent to her in connection with the ongoing harassment of her.

Kiwi Farms harassment campaigns can be life threatening

Harassment campaigns are designed to isolate targets or get them fired from their jobs by spreading false rumors that they are criminals or pedophiles. These campaigns have pushed some people to commit suicidebut other tactics have place victims in life-threatening situations.

Kiwi Farms members will “crush” their victims by sending a false emergency report to the police that the target is about to commit a violent crime. The intention is for law enforcement to respond by raiding the victim’s home and potentially harming the individual.

It happened in Keffal when police received calls claiming she was going to carry out a mass shooting at City Hall in her hometown of London, Ontario. Officers quickly showed up at her house with assault rifles ready and arrested her at gunpoint. They later released her, but this sparked a week-long harassment campaign that forced to flee to Europe. Her stalkers found her there and ran her over twice in Ireland.

The ordeal was “a nightmare” in Keffal’s words. She told NBC “I constantly have this nagging thought in the back of my head, ‘What are they doing? Are they planning something? Will there be another escalation?

Kiwi Farms down but not necessarily gone

The news of Kiwi Farms being blocked by Cloudflare was celebrated by Keffal, stating in a statement “This is a historic moment when thousands of people have stood up and taken a stand against online harassment and hate.” To add “This is a blow to Kiwi Farms and their community that they may never recover from.. But that doesn’t mean we should rest on our laurels.

Without Cloudflare’s security services, the forum will be open to Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks where it could be flooded with fake internet traffic, rendering it unusable. However, the Kiwi Farms website is hosted on servers in a Las Vegas data center owned by Fiberhub. Keffal called for pressure on the IT company if the forum becomes operational again.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors asked its staff on Tuesday, August 30 to identify resources that could be offered to help operators of hundreds of food trucks or other mobile food facilities whose personal information has mistakenly published on a county website.

The county’s public health department announced last week that some operators whose food businesses have undergone health inspections in the past two years had their personal information mistakenly posted on the agency’s website.

The information — including names, driver’s license numbers and possibly birth dates — has since been removed from the Environmental Health Division’s website, but county officials said they are working to contact the people concerned.

It was not immediately clear when the information was released or how long it has been publicly available online, but county officials said the release relates to operators of 806 facilities that have undergone environmental health inspections. between July 1, 2020 and July 29, 2022.

The County Board of Supervisors voted 4-0 Tuesday, in the absence of Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, in favor of a motion by Supervisor Kathryn Barger calling for a 30-day report on resources the county can provide to the commercial operators concerned.

“The threat of identity theft and its consequences are real,” Barger said in a statement after the vote. “I wrote this motion because the county has a duty to help all mobile food service operators and licensees who are now at increased risk since their personal information has been shared in error. I want business owners to be feel supported. The best way to do that now is to identify responsive, responsive resources that can help.”

The Washington Post claimed that the Libs of TikTok Twitter account posted “misinformation” that “incorrectly suggested” that Children’s National Hospital in Washington DC had performed hysterectomies in a Friday report, although the hospital previously claimed otherwise on its website.

Writer Peter Jamison has reported that Children’s National Hospital has come under scrutiny and threats after Libs of TikTok went public with allegations that the hospital performed “gender-affirming” surgeries. ” on minors based on records with employees.

“Children’s National Hospital was inundated with threatening emails and phone calls after an influential right-wing Twitter account posted a recording that falsely suggested the hospital was performing hysterectomies on transgender children, a door said. – hospital word. The torrent of harassment was accompanied by social media posts suggesting that Children’s be bombed and its doctors placed in a shredder,” Jamison wrote.

He noted that “Children’s did not dispute the authenticity of the recording”, instead they claim that “employees provided inaccurate information”.

An August 18 archived webpage on the Children’s National Hospital website lists “gender-affirming medical care and gender-affirming hysterectomy” among services offered to “patients aged 0-21” in the part of the hospital’s gynecology program.

WASHINGTON POST CHEERS WHITE HOUSE TWITTER ACCOUNT’S ‘FEISTY’, ‘PERSONAL’ ATTACKS ON GOP

An archived screenshot from the August 18 website shows that the hospital’s gynecology program originally mentioned “gender-affirming medical care and gender-affirming hysterectomy” for patients aged 0-21. years as one of his services. After Libs of TikTok’s report on Thursday, the services offered have been changed.

Jamison reported: “National Children’s Officials admit that some information released by the hospital has increased public confusion. Prior to Thursday, the hospital’s website incorrectly stated that gender-affirming hysterectomy was available for patients “aged 0 to 21, an error that has been corrected,” according to a hospital spokeswoman.

“Such statements have not dispelled the furor sparked by Raichik’s post Thursday,” Jamison wrote, without appearing to independently confirm the spokesperson’s claims. He also lambasted media sites which he said “published stories based on misinformation provided in phone conversations” from Libs of TikTok.

Audio provided by the Libs of TikTok founder featured two hospital workers being asked via phone conversation if a 16-year-old could receive a “gender-affirming hysterectomy.” Both said yes and one worker replied that she had “seen children younger” than 16 having hysterectomies.

A hospital spokesperson told Fox News Digital last week that the phone conversation “reflects a call with hospital operators, not anyone providing care to our patients” and that the hospital does not provided no gender surgery for children under 18.

“Children’s National Hospital is committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all and to serving our LGBTQ+ patients and families in all of their care,” the spokesperson said. “We do not provide gender-affirming surgery to anyone under the age of 18. We do not provide hormone therapy to children before the onset of puberty. Care is individualized for each patient and always involves families taking decisions in coordination with a team of highly trained pediatric specialists.”

WAPO’S MILBANK APPLAUSES BIDEN’S ‘SEMI-FASCISM’ ON MAGA REPUBLICANS: ‘TAKING US’ TO ‘AUTHORITARIANITY’

Libs of TikTok referenced the Washington Post article shortly after it was published on Friday, lambasting the claim that the allegations were “falsely suggested”.

“’Falsely suggested?’ THEY ADMITTED IT SEVERAL TIMES IN A RECORD. WaPo thinks we’re stupid,” the account tweeted.

In another thread, TikTok’s Lib slammed Jamison for appearing to ignore him by agreeing to an interview before posting the article without his comments.

“Unreal. WaPo’s @PeteJamison asked for a comment and I responded 12 minutes later accepting an interview. He then posted it hours later without responding to me before posting! Now he says he can update the story with my comments. That’s not how it works!”

The account added, “What an absolute hack @PeteJamison is. He even included in the story that I said I would do an interview, but now he’s telling me he didn’t see my post! You don’t can’t make that up!”

The article was later updated to say The Post “missed that response and ran the story before an interview could be arranged”.

Jamison did not respond to a Fox News Digital request for comment in time for publication.

At the bottom of Jamison’s article, it was also noted that Taylor Lorenz contributed to the report. Lorenz previously doxxed the creator behind Libs of TikTok in April, posting her name, profession and the region where she lives. This report came just days after Lorenz spoke out against online harassment of women.

Reinhart’s order came after Justice Department lawyers earlier Thursday offered redactions to the secret document that prompted him to approve the FBI’s search of the Palm Beach waterfront property that serves as both the residence of the former president and a private club for the members.

Reinhart pointed out that prosecutors had shown “good reason” to redact material from the affidavit that would reveal “the identities of witnesses, law enforcement officers and unindicted parties”, “strategy, direction, scope, sources and methods of the investigation” and “grand jury information”. ”

The judge appeared to approve all of the deletions proposed by the Department of Justice, some of which are intended to protect investigators’ sources and methods of gathering evidence in their criminal investigation of the “highly classified” documents the FBI discovered at Mar-a-Lago.

It’s unclear exactly what prosecutors claim should be protected from disclosure in the court submission and what specific arguments they made for secrecy, since the DOJ filing was filed under seal in federal court in West Palm Beach.

However, a Justice Department spokesperson confirmed that prosecutors complied with the order to submit those suggestions by noon Thursday. Court dockets that appeared just around the deadline said the documents were sealed and provided no further details.

“The United States has filed a sealed submission pursuant to the Court’s August 22 order,” spokesman Anthony Coley said in a brief statement. “The Department of Justice respectfully declines further comment while the Court considers the matter.”

At a hearing last week, Reinhart indicated he was inclined to release portions of the affidavit, though those documents typically remain sealed until criminal charges are filed or an investigation. be closed.

However, the judge said in a written order on Monday that he would not disclose details of the sources and methods the government relied on in the affidavit. But the intense national interest surrounding the investigation has drawn unusual attention to the progressive developments in the ongoing case, often fueled by the former president himself, who mounted a campaign to discredit the investigation, even then that it presented an increasingly acute legal threat.

A wide range of news organizations, as well as the conservative group Judicial Watch, asked the court to unseal the affidavit.

Trump has publicly stated that he wants all documents related to the research released, but he has not officially joined in the unsealing effort. His attorneys made a separate legal move on Monday to ask a third party to oversee the review of documents seized by the FBI in the Aug. 8 search of Mar-a-Lago. Another judge asked Trump’s attorneys to provide more details on their request by Friday.

The DOJ has previously said that if ordered by Reinhart, it would offer redactions so extensive that they would render the search affidavit meaningless to the public. However, the department is also under pressure to reveal more details based on the unprecedented decision to execute a search warrant at the home of a former president. Attorney General Merrick Garland, who has acknowledged directly approving the search, has already acknowledged the unusual urgency of the case, moving to unseal the search warrant itself, along with two redacted receipts for property taken from the Trump succession.

Adding to that pressure: Trump used the information vacuum to attack law enforcement and claim the search was a politically motivated attack on a potential White House candidate in 2024. He and his allies stepped up the fiery rhetoric surrounding the raid. Trump himself on Thursday morning described the search as “the greatest political attack in United States history,” in a post on his social media site.

But the department has resisted releasing parts of the underlying affidavit, warning it could scare away cooperative witnesses — especially amid a growing wave of violent threats against law enforcement and other people connected to the investigation – or reveal details about how the FBI gathered evidence in the case.

Making the document public could also set a precedent that would bolster efforts to obtain such documents in other high-profile and politically charged investigations. A Justice Department prosecutor told Reinhart the process would be a burden on the government to manage in a slew of cases, but the magistrate judge said in his order Monday that he was not concerned for the moment by other business.

“I need not address the question of whether, in another case, these concerns might justify denying public access; they very well might. Particularly given the intense public and historical interest generated by an unprecedented search of the residence of a former president, the government has yet to demonstrate that these administrative concerns are sufficient to warrant sealing.

It’s unclear if Reinhart’s decision will be the final say on who, if anything, will be released. The Justice Department and any entity seeking release of the affidavit could appeal its decision to a district court judge and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta. Reinhart suggested during last week’s hearing that he would not release anything until potential appeals were resolved.
