Taxi drivers are furious over the closure of a city center route, which they say has made traffic congestion worse for them.

Traffic was banned on Exchange Street as part of the County Council’s decision Connect Norwich Lanes Project.

The changes allowed for the introduction of additional outdoor seating on a number of routes, including Exchange Street.

But Hackney Carriage drivers are asking the council to reopen the route after long traffic jams caused delays of up to an hour on Saturday in the city center loop.

Black taxi driver Craig Dimbleby said: “What the council is trying to achieve is to make our lives impossible.

“It was absolutely awful. It took me 45 minutes to get back from City Hall to the station. Coming out of the roundabout at the top of Grapes Hill was awful.

‘There was no afterthought in closing Exchange Street and many drivers made remarks against the plans.’

County Council said a consultation was carried out in the summer of 2021 for Connecting The Norwich Lanes.

In total, 58% of respondents liked the proposals, 12% were indifferent and 36% did not like them.

And businesses can still access Exchange Street for loading before 10 a.m. and after 4 p.m.

Ryan Self, who worked in the taxi industry in the city for 20 years, said: “Everybody in the ranks is worried it’s going to kill the trade.

“It’s a nightmare and it feels like taxi drivers are being targeted.”

Councilor Martin Wilby, cabinet member for highways, transport and infrastructure at Norfolk County Council, said: “Changes to Exchange Street which remove general traffic and create a pedestrian and cycle zone are in place from temporarily for more than two years.

“The ways in Norwich and surrounding areas see significant numbers of people walking and cycling through the city every day and these changes will enhance that experience even further, while supporting the local economy and improving air quality.

“When we asked people about the proposals last year as part of our Connecting the Lanes consultation, the majority of people supported both the overall project and the proposals on Exchange Street.”

The City of Cape Coral is trying to plan what a hallway will look like in 50 years. Officials are planning a virtual meeting and they want to hear from locals.

“I’m in no rush. You know you get there by kinda swearing to each other or something and forget about it,” Cape Coral resident Bob Molnar said.

“At rush hour, it’s pretty bad. You can be slowed down for quite a while, especially by Andalucia,” said fellow Cape Coral resident Aaron Brackenbury.

For now, it’s a leisurely stroll near lunchtime down the hall. However, that could change after what the mayor calls Cape Town’s main commercial development corridor is complete.

“We know this area is going to be an area of explosive growth and we need to make sure we have the capacity that will be needed today and for the future,” Cape Coral Mayor John Gunter said.

Mayor Gunter told WINK News the corridor needs attention now, and that’s why the city has brought forward a study of the nine-mile stretch, originally slated for 2030.

Cape Coral, Lee County and the Florida Department of Transportation want input from drivers and are asking drivers to rank what they consider priorities and where changes need to be made. The goal is to help guide transportation and land use planning decisions for the next 50 years.

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport finished atop JD Power’s latest passenger satisfaction survey of the nation’s largest airports, the market research firm announced Wednesday.

MSP ranks first in the “mega airport” category with a score of 800. It was followed closely by San Francisco International Airport at 796 and Detroit Wayne County Metropolitan Airport and John F International Airport. Kennedy, both at 791.

MSP ranked second to Detroit in the JD Power survey in 2019, the last year airport traffic was at a comparable level.

JD Power measures overall traveler satisfaction annually by surveying passengers about terminal facilities; airport arrival/departure; baggage claim; security check; baggage check-in/screening; and food, beverage and retail.

The latest Market Research study found that overall satisfaction was down 25 points on a 1,000-point scale as travelers encountered crowded terminals and fewer food and drink options.

“The combination of pent-up demand for air travel, nationwide labor shortages and steadily rising prices for everything from jet fuel to a bottle of water has created a scenario in which airports are extremely crowded and passengers are growing increasingly frustrated – and it’s likely until 2023,” Michael Taylor, head of travel intelligence at JD Power, said in a statement.

Mega airports are defined as those handling 33 million or more passengers per year; large airports with 10 to 32.9 million passengers per year; and medium airports with 4.5 to 9.9 million passengers per year.

Tampa International Airport ranks first among major airports with a score of 846. John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California (826) ranks second and Dallas Love Field (825) ranks second. third class.

Indianapolis International Airport ranks first among medium-sized airports with a score of 842. Pittsburgh International Airport (839) ranks second while Jacksonville International Airport (826) and Southwest Florida International (826) each tied for third.

Now in its 17th year, the study is based on 26,529 surveys completed by U.S. or Canadian residents who have traveled to at least one U.S. or Canadian airport and covers both departure and arrival experiences (including connecting airports) in the last 30 days.

From 2019 to 2021, motor vehicle thefts reported to the Greeley Police Department increased by 86%.

In fact, general property crime is up 18% in Greeley. The only exception is arson, which decreased by 26%. Violent crime in Greeley over the same period has also increased by 61%.

These numbers are not isolated to Greeley. According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigations, these same crime categories have increased across the state of Colorado by similar percentages. Where does this rank us as a state in property crime rates?

In 2010, Colorado ranked 23rd, with 1st being the lowest rates and 50th being the worst rates. With violent crime rates, Colorado fell from 26th in 2010 to 31st in 2020. Finally, in terms of total crime rates, Colorado fell from 22nd in 2010 to 47th in 2020.

The next question you should have is “Why?” While this is the easy and appropriate question to ask, the answer is anything but.

When I had the honor of being named Chief of Police of the Greeley Police Department earlier this year, I knew the challenges we, as an agency, city and state, had before us when it came to about rising crime rates. That’s the question I’ve also asked myself as Colorado’s crime rate continues to skyrocket.

To understand the increase in crime rates, it is important to recognize some of the factors that contribute to this increase. This includes recidivism rates, mental health issues and legislative changes.

Recidivism is the likelihood that an offender will reoffend by committing another crime upon release. This, like most things in the criminal justice world, is tracked.

This, like most crime categories, is also bad in Colorado. Arkansas, Alaska, and Delaware are the three states in the United States that have worse recidivism rates than Colorado.

While some who commit crimes in our city and state are very aware of what they are doing, there are others who are not as cognitively aware of their actions. Mental Health America ranks states based on the prevalence of mental illness among state citizens and their access to mental health care.

In 2015, the MHA ranked Colorado with a score of 32. In 2022, that number is 51. States ranked 39 to 51 indicate adults have higher prevalence of mental illness and rates of access to mental illness. lower care for this disease.

These types of calls have always been forwarded to the police to be handled as well, even when they are not criminal in nature. Although many officers have advanced training in dealing with people in mental health crisis, they are by no means mental health professionals.

Fortunately, the Greeley Police Department has partnered with North Range Behavioral Health and Greeley Fire Department for years with our Co-Responder and Squad 1 program.

This program pairs a licensed mental health clinician with a police officer to determine if the person should be referred for an immediate behavioral health assessment instead of jail. Squad 1 also has a clinician in addition to a firefighter to respond to medical and mental health calls.

While this is a fantastic partnership that I am proud to have with North Range Behavioral Health and the Department of Greeley, these programs do not and do not aim to address violent crime rates.

Since 2014, numerous legislative changes have continuously relaxed the penalties and levels of indictment for many crimes.

Bill 14-1266, passed in 2014, reduced the penalty rate and charge levels for certain property crimes and auto thefts. Senate Bill 21-124 lowered certain felony murders to a Class 2 felony, down from a Class 1 felony. Senate Bill 21-271 reduced the felony of trespassing a vehicle from a class 5 felony to a class 1 misdemeanor, as well as many other felonies that have been downgraded to lower levels.

There have also been bond reforms, increasing the amount of ‘personal recognizance’ bonds instead of cash bonds – meaning an arrested person can walk out of jail without paying anything simply by promising to appear before court to answer his charges. These obligations are often also granted to repeat offenders who commit to serious and criminal charges.

In 2019, a law was passed that made drug possession a felony to a misdemeanor as long as the suspect had less than 4 grams of drugs on them, including methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid similar to heroin or morphine, but 50 to 100 times more potent. So it’s 50 to 100 times more deadly, and the overdose statistics in Colorado show that.

In Greeley, from 2010 to 2017, there were an average of 50 synthetic opioid deaths per year citing fentanyl overdoses; 400 deaths in total during this period. In 2018, the number of synthetic opioids citing fentanyl overdoses rose to 102 deaths. In 2019, 2020, and 2021, that annual total was 222, 540, and 912 overdose deaths, respectively.

The total number of synthetic opioid overdose deaths mentioning fentanyl in Greeley in the past four years alone is 1,776.

The trends are unfortunately similar with methamphetamine overdoses.

From 2010 to 2016, there were an average of 100 deaths per year from methamphetamine overdoses; 705 deaths in total during this period. In 2017, the number of methamphetamine overdose deaths rose to 299. In 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, the annual total was 318, 349, 525, and 749 overdose deaths, respectively.

I tell you all this so as not to blame or pass the buck. I think it’s important for the community to be aware and truly understand the challenges and limitations that we as law enforcement officers navigate every day.

It is also important to understand the difficulties related to drugs, alcohol and mental health problems that a large part of our clientele struggles with.

We constantly respond to calls for service that just a few years ago would have resulted in the arrest of the suspect. With some of the legislative changes that have been made in Colorado, we are left to issue a subpoena and walk away.

I also think it’s important to disperse some of the false narratives surrounding crime and inequality in Greeley and also in Colorado.

The most disadvantaged members of our community do not commit the most crimes. In fact, crime has a disproportionate impact on disadvantaged and minority populations.

The majority of crime is opportunistic in nature and spans all socio-economic statuses. More importantly, there are a small number of offenders who commit a disproportionate amount of harm to society based on the percentage of society they make up.

Since 2015, we have been committed to a strategy called the Data Driven Approaches to Crime and Traffic Safety Model. We use the data to help us deploy additional resources where crime and traffic accidents overlap.

This strategy has proven effective across the country in reducing social harms in communities.

There is a need for reflection, evaluation and action. We have seen several instances of changes in crime rates, mental health rankings, and drug-related deaths that correlate with various legislative changes. Public safety takes us all.

Reducing crime in the community is a high priority for the Greeley Police Department. I think it’s important to take a statewide, holistic, common-sense approach to addressing these acute and long-term issues.

Rising crime rates impact where people live, work and play.

I am incredibly grateful to be at the helm of what I consider to be the finest law enforcement agency in the state. We understand the challenges ahead and my officers, command staff and I are committed to proudly working with citizens to protect our community.

I believe that engaged communities are safe communities and this is where I seek the help of communities in this mission. Bring solutions, we are here to listen to you.

We need to pause and assess the impacts of previous efforts if we are to right the ship in Colorado – before continuing this ominous slide.

– Adam Turk is Chief of the Greeley Police Department

Traffic jams are a common occurrence in most major Indian cities. Whether you’re in Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore, the scenes are similar to rush hour – cars pull up bumper to bumper, two-wheelers trying to navigate between them. In fact, the TomTom Traffic Index report says that if you’re stuck in traffic in Mumbai, Bengaluru or Delhi, you’re probably on one of the top 10 busiest roads in the world.

According to a recent study, congested roads and traffic jams are a thorny problem for Indian cities. Mumbai holds the dubious distinction of being the third most congested city in the world, with an average of 121 hours lost in traffic and a congestion level of 53%.

Bengaluru and Delhi rank close at fifth and account for 110 hours lost in traffic with a congestion level of 48%.

Increasingly, as traffic continues to weigh on economic, social and environmental growth, the need for alternative means of transport becomes very important.

Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari recently proposed introducing skybuses like in the Philippines and other countries to decongest the roads.

“It is difficult to widen the existing roads in Bangalore. So we made two decisions. We will not acquire land but we will construct three-storey or level splitters as has been done in Chennai,” Gadkari told reporters.

“We are studying it (skybus) and we want to do it. If thousands of people travel in the sky, the problem below will be solved,” PTI said, quoting Gadkari.

Going further, NHAI officials were directed to a three-month report-writing project on the practicality and means of building skybuses based on consultations with experts from around the world.

So what is a skybus?
Simply put, a skybus is similar to a subway, running in the air on an elevated track with cables suspended below. An economical and modern public transport system, the skybus is the most viable solution to solve traffic problems at a speed of 100 km/h.

This is not the first time that such a transport system has been mentioned. There are a few other examples from the past, where similar projects failed to implement.

In 2003, a Rs 100 crore skybus project for Goa was introduced, which failed to take off. Konkan Railway Corporation scrapped the skybus in 2016, calling it “commercially unviable”.

However, past experiences can still be used as key learning platforms and the skybus has definitely entered political circles. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has insisted on the same, most recently at the annual ACMA and SIAM conventions. Thus, expectations are high for a possible reintroduction.

While the government is working on the sustainability factor, the private sector has also been active in this regard. Reliance Industries, led by Mukesh Ambani, with its clean mobility approach, has already introduced “skyTran”.

Nitin Seth, CEO of New Mobility, RIL, said: “By 2025, the company plans to test the first 2.5 kilometers in Bangaluru and the United States as well. He was speaking at Dassault Systèmes’ annual flagship event, the 3DExperience Forum India 2022.

He added: “So what we are attempting is another impossible task, can we come up with a cheaper mobility solution? In India, building a metro costs Rs 360 crore per kilo and it takes two days of digging and then all the traffic comes back. Can you deliver anything to the world in the next two and a half years? ?

The lower cost factor involved in the development of a Sky transport system and the simple construction process allows for many more lines to be available in conventional public transport systems, which in turn allows for greater capacity per mile . skyTran is 1/10 the cost of light rail, Seth added.

Reliance Group is betting high on skyTran’s potential to achieve high-speed intra- and inter-city connectivity and promote the highly efficient and cost-effective ‘transport as a service’ platform for India and the rest of the world.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is an essential and often overlooked part of digital marketing. According to a recent survey, 82% of marketers say organic search is important to their business. But with so many different digital marketing strategies available, it can be hard to know where to invest your time and money. This is why you should consider investing in best seo service for your small business.

Why is SEO important for small businesses?

Like any other type of marketing, SEO allows you to stay on top of your industry and compete with bigger competitors. Research from the Aberdeen Group shows that the top 10 companies in a given industry get 50% of all search traffic. If you want to grow your business, you need to make sure you’re competing for those top spots with SEO. Compared to other channels, SEO is relatively inexpensive to invest. It’s also easy to scale, so you can increase your budget as your business grows. Digital marketing as a whole has a high return on investment. The most recent report from the Aberdeen Group reveals that digital marketing has a 15x return on investment. So while SEO is a low cost investment, it has a high return.

How much does SEO cost?

Like most digital marketing strategies, the price of SEO will vary depending on the types of services your agency offers. You can expect your agency to charge between $200 and $13,000 per month for SEO. Keep in mind that you will have to pay for content creation and web design to go along with SEO. You will have to pay for these services regardless of your SEO strategy. So it’s best to choose an SEO strategy that fits your business goals and budget.

4 Steps to Making SEO Investment Decisions

There are many factors to consider when determining how much to invest in SEO for your business. To facilitate the decision process, we recommend that you follow these 4 steps:

– Analyze your digital landscape: What is your current position in the digital landscape? What are the strengths and weaknesses of your website? This will help you understand how much work you will need to do to get to the top of search results.

– Assess your business goals: What are your business goals? Are you trying to increase traffic, leads or sales? Knowing your goals will help you determine how much you should invest.

– Define your SEO strategy: Which SEO strategy will help you achieve your business goals? There are a variety of SEO strategies. You will need to decide which is best for your business.

– Determine your SEO budget: Once you have assessed your SEO options, you can determine how much you should invest.

How to measure ROI for SEO

Measuring your SEO ROI is similar to measuring the ROI of other marketing strategies. You will want to track your investments and compare them to your results. You will want to consider the following:

– Traffic: The number of visitors you get through organic search.

– Conversions: How many of these people turn into leads or customers?

– Revenue: the amount of money your business makes from these conversions. To track these metrics, you can use Google Analytics and a plugin like SEO by Squirrel.

3 Best Practices for Effective Small Business SEO

Once you’ve decided how much you’re going to invest in SEO, you’ll want to consider a few best practices to ensure your SEO strategy is effective.

– Invest in high-quality content: The foundation of all SEO is high-quality content. If your content isn’t useful, customers won’t read it and it won’t help you rank.

– Identify your SEO goals: Before diving into SEO, you need to know what you are trying to accomplish. Do you want to drive traffic to your website or your sales?

– Building links: The majority of SEO is done off-site. Investing in links and earning high quality backlinks is essential to SEO success.

Conclusion

Ultimately, SEO is an essential part of your digital marketing strategy. But it’s not an investment that works overnight. It is a long-term strategy that requires patience and constant effort. Once you have an SEO strategy in place, you need to stay consistent with it. Don’t make changes too often or you may hurt your rankings.

Google makes substantial changes to its search algorithms several times a year. The most recent was the helpful content update in August. According to Google, the update will “guarantee people more original and useful content written by people, for people, in search results.”

While these Major Google Updates are supposed to improve search quality, they can also devastate your website rankings. So how can accounting firms continue to rank in searches despite Google’s ongoing algorithm updates?

Leveraging a “integrated marketing communications“offers resilience and success when it comes to bringing customers to the top of Google search rankings, even in the midst of continuous algorithm changes. The strategy is based on balancing the four media pillars of integrated marketing communications: (1) owned media, (2) earned media, (3) paid media, and (4) shared media.

This article provides an overview of IMC’s four media cornerstones and how best to use them.

What is BMI and how does it improve Google rankings?

Integrated marketing communications combine multiple marketing techniques and media channels into a cohesive, multi-pronged strategy. The cornerstones of this strategy include the four types of media – owned, earned, paid and shared.

By publishing media across all of these channels, IMC campaigns reach the largest and widest range of potential accounting clients. They also reach influencers that these accounting clients respond to organically. More importantly, they skyrocket marketing effectiveness while reducing costs.

When mainstream media, internet blogs, and internet influencers start referring to your content as a primary source of truth (and when people spend time on your website and share its content), Google perceives your website as providing “useful content”. This supports the increase in the ranking of your content and websites in Google searches.

4 Cornerstones of Integrated Marketing Communications

Let’s take a detailed look at the four cornerstones of an IMC strategy so you can ensure that your content marketing efforts rest firmly on the four pillars:

Los Cabos, Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo have been named the safest places in Mexico, according to a recent official study.

With arrivals surpassing 2019 levels and accounting for nearly 8% of all air traffic in Mexico, San Lucas and San Jose are poised to become the new Cancun.

Americans are particularly fond of “The Capes”, as evidenced by the 22% increase in visits so far in 2022 compared to 2019.

Level 2 advice

Los Cabos Tourism Trust is an organization that tracks tourism data and trends in the region.

According to Rodrigo Esponda Cascajares, director of the Trust, Los Cabos remains at level 2 in the travel advisory in addition to ranking among the safest destinations in Mexico. Let’s explain what this means:

The United States assigns different risk classifications to travel destinations, ranging from 1 to 4. While level 1 indicates that there is no danger for tourists, level 4 is a list of prohibited areas.

Los Cabos, along with Cancun and several other Mexican beach towns, has been classified as a Tier 2 destination; people are only asked to exercise caution when visiting.

In reality, Tier 2 is the lowest position a large urban area can aspire to. Countries like the UK, France, Germany and even Denmark, where violent crime is virtually non-existent, have received the same warning.

The beautiful Capes now have their own official safety badge from their country after gaining international recognition.

One of the safest cities in Mexico

According to Cascajares, Los Cabos consistently ranks in the top six for security awareness in Mexico. The other five include San Pedro Garza Garcia, Benito Juarez, Tampico, Piedras Negras and Saltillo

The study, conducted by INEGI, Mexico’s National Institute of Statistics and Geography, looked at 75 of the country’s “main” cities, with “citizen perception of security” among the top.

Of course, tourist satisfaction is high, as evidenced by the region’s incredible recovery during the post-pandemic holiday season, which has significantly outperformed other parts of Mexico.

Cascajares says Los Cabos has not experienced any significant negative events in the “past 4 or 5 years” and the region remains consistently at Level 2.
